Rowland Heights Lions Club held our 2008 Annual Banquet at Doubletree Hotel Claremont on June 20, 2008. It was our honor to have 4-L2 2007-2008 District Governor Mike Brassard and 4-L2 2008-2009 District Governor Judy Powell, many local elected officials, and many lions from other fellow Lions Clubs as our VIPs.

Rowland Heights Lions Club held our 2007 Annual Banquet at Hilton Los Angeles/San Gabriel Hotel on June 17, 2007. It was our honor to have the 4-L2 2006-2007 District Governor Roger Powell, the 4-L2 2007-2008 District Governor Mike Brassard, TECO officers, many local elected officials, and many lions from other fellow Lions Clubs as our VIPs.

Rowland Heights Lions Club held our 2007-2008 President and officers installation ceremony at Marie Callender's in City of Industry on June 13, 2007.

It was our honor to have the incoming 4-L2 2007-2008 District Governor Mike Brassard to install our new President and officers. The 2006-2007 President Tom Tang passed the presidency over to the new incoming 2007-2008 President Bee Hsu.

* March 24, 2007, Rowland Heights Lions Club's White Cane Days event

羅蘭崗獅子會二○○七年白杖日活動

Rowland Heights Lion Club held our 2007 White Cane Days at The 99 Range Market in Rowland Heights on March 24, 2007. Led by our Charter President Aileen Chan and the 2006-2007 President Tom Tang, our member lions had raised significant amount of money, which we donated to charity.

* February 3, 2007, Rowland Heights Lions Club's Preliminary Student Speech Contest

Rowland Heights Lions Club held our preliminary Student Speech Contest at Marie Callender's in City of Industry on February 3, 2007. We had invited several judges and we had three contestants. The winner went to the zone level contest and won again. Congrats.

Rowland Heights Lions Club held our 2006 Annual Installation Banquet at Hilton Los Angeles/San Gabriel Hotel on June 4, 2006. The highlight of the banquet was the installation of the new 2006-2007 President and the officers. The 2005-2006 and the charter RHLC President Aileen Chan  passed the presidency of the Rowland Heights Lion Club to the incoming 2006-2007 President Tom Tang. All guests enjoyed our happy and warm ceremony and the joyful entertainment programs that our member lions and friends performed.

Highlights of the Rowland Heights Lions Club 2006 Annual Banquet on June 2006 at Hilton Los Angeles/San Gabriel Hotel. During the annual banquet, we sponsor again another guide dog by donating $2,500 to Guide Dogs of the Desert International (GDDI). Because 2006 is the year of Dog by Chinese lunar custom, we named our new guide dog "Won Won" (旺旺), which is the sound of a dog barking and also, in Chinese, means "Prosperous".

* October 2, 2005, Rowland Heights Lions Club Charity Concert

Rowland Heights Lions Club hosted a charity concert at TECO I I (僑二中心)in City of El Monte, California on October 2, 2005. The purpose of the concert was to raise funds which we donated to the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) with the fund earmarked to help people who suffered from the 2005 Katrina Hurricane.

The event was a big success. More than six hundred audiences had enjoyed this concert. The concert included chorus singing, drama, fashion show, folk dances, singers performances .Thanks to the generous attendants, we had collected donation funds of more than five thousands, which we had sent to LCIF.

Rowland Heights Lions Club held a press conference showcasing a guide dog from Guide Dogs of the Desert International (GDDI) on May 2006. During the press conference, we announced our 2006 Annual Banquet time and place, and that we would sponsor again another guide dog by donating $2,500 to GDDI.

* June 27 thru July 1, 2005, The 88th Lions Club International Convention

二○○五年第88屆國際獅子會年會

The 88th Lions Club International Annual Convention had been successfully held on June 27 thru July 1, 2005 in Hong Kong.

* May 1, 2005, Rowland Heights Lions Club Donation ($2,500) Trip

to Guide Dogs of the Desert International

Rowland Heights Lions Club Charter and 2005-2006 President Ms. Aileen Chan and Lion members went to Palm Springs to visit Guide Dogs of the Desert International (GDDI). We are welcomed by the GDDI President Dr. Brian Van Dusen, OD; and the GDDI Ambassador Pati Almeras. On behalf of Rowland Heights Lions Club, our President Ms. Aileen Chan handed Dr. Van Dusen a check of $2,500 as our donation to the guide dog training school showing our appreciation to the school's volunteers for their jobs well done and supporting one of the guide dogs' training expenses.

The guide dog that Rowland Heights Lions Club sponsors was born on April 12, 2005. The puppy was named after our Lions Club's name: Rowland.  Our $2,500 donation will pay for Rowland's training courses in the coming years in order for him to become a guide dog . Rowland is now being adopted and raised by a lovely family in Orange County, California. 18 month later he will come back to GDDI to receive the complete guide dog training classes.  More details about our cute, little guide dog puppy Rowland are coming.
